Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about SEEITE membership, dues, eligibility, and our role within the Engineering Society of Liberia.

What is SEEITE?

SEEITE is the Society of Electrical, Electronics, IT and Telecommunications Engineers — an official auxiliary (sub-society) of the Engineering Society of Liberia (ESOL). It brings together professionals, students, institutions and corporate partners across the four technical domains to advance Liberia's engineering development through standards, research, innovation, professional development and ethical practice.

Who can join SEEITE?

Membership is open to engineers and individuals working in, studying, or supporting electrical, electronics, information technology and telecommunications engineering in Liberia. There are nine membership classes spanning professional, academic, student and corporate engagement.

What membership classes does SEEITE offer?

Honorary, Fellow, Full Member, Graduate Member, Associate Member, Affiliate Member, Student Member, and Corporate Member A (international) and B (local). Each class has its own eligibility, voting rights, dues and benefits — see the Membership page for full details.

How much are membership dues?

Annual dues are set by the SEEITE Constitution & By-Laws: Full Member and Fellow $50, Associate Member $35, Affiliate Member $10, and Graduate and Student Members $2.50. The application fee is $40 ($5 for students). Honorary and Fellow members are exempt from dues.

How do I become a member?

Apply online: create an account, complete your profile, upload your documents, sign the digital declaration, pay your application fee and first-year dues, and submit. The Membership Committee reviews your application and the Executive Committee approves it, after which you are enrolled and receive your membership ID, certificate and digital card.

What is the relationship between SEEITE and ESOL?

SEEITE is an official auxiliary of the Engineering Society of Liberia (ESOL). It operates under the ESOL Constitution, supports and assists ESOL, and the ESOL Board of Directors serves as the board for SEEITE.

Do I need to be an ESOL member to join SEEITE?

Some classes — Full Member, Graduate Member and Student Member — require membership in good standing with ESOL. Others, such as Associate and Affiliate, do not. Your application will indicate when ESOL evidence is required.

What are the benefits of SEEITE membership?

Members in good standing gain access to continuing professional development, training, mentorship, networking, the SEEITE Newsletter and publications, the member directory, technical committees, and pathways toward professional licensing through ESOL.

Does SEEITE support engineering licensing in Liberia?

SEEITE supports and assists ESOL in advancing the requirements for the licensing and certification of engineers in Liberia. Full Members in good standing may apply for ESOL certification/licensing upon meeting the requirements.
